Today, we’re thrilled to introduce a new feature for Timepiece – Time in Status for Jira: Scheduled Reports & Alarms! This powerful new functionality lets you automate your Jira reporting, making your workflow smoother and smarter. And that’s not all. As the name hints, you can now set up Alarms, so you’re only notified when something truly needs your attention. Get ready to make your reporting process efficient, insightful, and proactive.
What is Scheduled Reports & Alarms?
Timepiece – Time in Status for Jira has always been your go-to app for creating Time in Status reports, enabling you to save, load, and share report configurations. Now, we’re taking things a big step further.

The Scheduled Reports & Alarms feature brings you two main benefits: first, it lets you schedule your favorite reports to run automatically, and second, it makes sure you get alerted when you need to jump in.
Automate Jira Reporting with Scheduled Reports
The Scheduled Reports functionality within Timepiece automatically generates and distributes reports based on the configuration you’ve chosen.

With Scheduled Reports, you can set up your essential Timepiece reports to generate and distribute them. Just pick your saved Parameter Sets, choose how often you want them, and who needs to see your report. Once your report is generated, you can get the latest report and data without any extra effort. This automation doesn’t just save you precious time; it also guarantees consistent, standardized reporting across your whole organization.
Pay Attention Only When Needed: Alarms
Our new Alarms functionality helps you spot potential issues before they become big problems. You can set up tasks to run only when specific conditions are met.

Imagine this: you can set an alarm to notify you if an work item (issue) stays ‘In progress’ for more than a week, by configuring your report to show only issues exceeding that preconfigured threshold. This smart alerting system helps you quickly identify and tackle critical bottlenecks, turning Timepiece into your early warning system.
Easily Share, Securely Access
Once your reports are ready, sharing them with your team is very easy. You can securely distribute them right from Timepiece, and send links via email, Slack, or Microsoft Teams. When you choose one of the delivery methods, Timepiece sends a secure download link instead of the file itself. This way, you can keep your sensitive data safe and make sure only authorized users can access it.
